Omar Abdullah-Ghulam Nabi azad-Jammu-Kashmir-Congress-National Conference

In the last one week ever since star campaigners of National Conference and the Congress party have embarked on the campaign trail to woo electorate in their favor they have been fighting a bitter battle of words and exposing  behind the scene rumblings between the alliance partners. On one hand Omar has been repeatedly attacking the congress party over its propaganda  with regard to creation of administrative units in the state and forcing the National Conference leadership to settle down to incorporate 73rd and 74 th amendment in to the state Act.   While doing so Omar also claims that it has him who forced Congress hand to create administrative units by pressurizing them as congress ministers were reluctant to …

Why J&K Govt was forced to transfer Director Information only 4 days after his transfer

Transfer of Director Information Mukhtar-Ul-Aziz in a span of four days has sparked off fresh controversy  here in the corridors of power. It was on  October 16 the state cabinet headed by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah had deliberated on the transfer and postings of senior KAS officers and transferred Mukhtar-Ul Aziz on the post of Director Information. To increase Revenue receipts Traffic police Cops add more confusion than regulating traffic on the busy Jammu Roads

Jammu kashmir traffic police

Traffic police men are deployed on ground zero to normally regulate traffic and book violators. But in Jammu traffic police cops care little about managing/regulating traffic and focus more on issuing challans and booking violators in order to increase the revenue receipts. The traffic police cops do not make any distinction between peak hour traffic  or routine traffic when it comes to booking violators. On Monday at least 8 traffic police cops were seen standing near the Gujjar Nagar  barricade waiting for the two wheeler drivers and other violators to fall in the trap. Ironically, the manner in which the traffic police cops were catching hold of traffic violators  they added to the miseries of the motorists driving on the …

JK Housing Board officials taking Raman Bhalla for a ride, denting his image ahead of assembly elections

JK Housing Board encroachment-Channi Himmat

Jammu and Kashmir Housing Board seems to have legalised encroachment of the Housing Board Flats by gazetted officers serving in the same department, senior police officers and well connected politicians. Ironically, the ‘babus’ occupying the office of the Deputy General Manager Unit 1 located in the shopping complex in Sector 2 have been encouraging rampant encroachment  in lieu of some consideration and deliberately keeping their eyes shut for a long time  instead of taking any strong action against the wilful defaulters. Large scale conversion of residential houses in to commercial establishments and construction of basement in commercial establishments without seeking approval of the JK housing board is also going on rampantly in Channi-Himmat causing lot of hardships to common residents …

After almost a week-long cleanliness drive in central government offices led by Cabinet ministers, Prime Minister Narendra Modi wielded a broom on Thursday launching country’s biggest ever cleanliness drive “Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan” from Rajpath. And at the same day, On 2nd October 2014 at around 11:30 am, when we reached Slathia Chowk, near DC Office Udhampur. We felt very good seeing some volunteers from CRPF and NGOs were clearing up the mess which was lying there for an year. Udhampur-Swachh Bharat- Sanitation-Udhampur- Municipal Council Udhampur

A ‘clean India’ by 2019 when the nation will mark 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi is the vision driving the mission. Its launch on Oct 2 has a lot of significance as Father of the Nation had a penchant for cleanliness in his personal habits and sought to promote it in his environs in every way. Now, PM Modi intends to involve every citizen in the task of cleanliness. And at the same time, there is a town in the state of Jammu Kashmir, Udhampur where the concerned authorities picks up the …

Bahu fort area but beautification project in shambles

On Monday when senior Congress Minister Raman Bhalla visited Bahu Fort area and participated in the Navratra celebrations and also performed Surya Putri Aarti on the banks of river Tawi he claimed that Bahu Fort is emerging as favorite tourist destination. Ironically when it comes to developing the area to  attract more tourist traffic the state govt departments are lacking in enthusiasm and the spirit to develop the area. The construction of darshani deodi near Kalika colony is still hanging in balance and gives a shabby look to the entire area. Resting points erected in the area remain out of bound for visitors as they ar emostly occupied by the stray animals. Also Read: Government is taking up several steps …
