Almost all the political parties are of the view that the youth of nation has a great role in taking India to new heights with their energy, knowledge and using modern technology and above all to get rid of social evils prevailing in our country right now. But the important question arising here is that the way politics is being done; will it encourage and motivate youth to take part in politics? The youth of today is vibrant enough to see through tricks most politicians play just for the sake of their petty gains and only in order to remain in power only. Unfortunately we don’t have an ideal leader in Indian politics today whom youth of today could follow to take nation on the path of prosperity and glory. Under the prevailing system there is need for heads of both regional and national level parties to change their outlook and to prove also what they say, they really mean it.
Whether the outcome is good or bad, politics cannot be ignored, simply because it influences a large part of our day-to-day life. It is required that today’s youth are equipped with a better awareness on various political processes so that they can interpret correctly, defend effectively and apply appropriately to live better life which would benefit the society as a whole. The motivation could be from a redefined educational system, social practices and encouragements. There is better chance that the bamboo would be used more as flutes or shelter this way. And there is still better chance that the energy of youth will go beyond mere individual benefits and extend the understandings to influence the society and nation in a positive way. The generalized feeling is that today’s youth are least cared about politics. We are able to see the same in our mundane life as how the youth is reacting to politics. This is attributed by the way governments are being run in many countries. For many, politics is something unprofessionlistic, which has to cope with a lot of unscrupulous and unethical acts, where not many can react to cease it. My personal opinion is, youth need not completely stay away from it. But at least have a close watch on how a government is being run, to know the do’s & don’ts. They shouldn’t shred their responsibilities by restricting them only to voting. Many countries lack “educated” politicians, who can really think on the both sides of cards, and can take rational decisions and be pragmatic. Aggressive, learned youth, are the most sought after in many governments. I believe today’s youth only see politics through the eyes of the electronic media.
The electronic media i.e. TV and radio look for ratings. Big TV is financed by big business. Big business is usually very pro whoever is in office at the time. You can’t really learn about what is going on from TV and radio. Radio is especially skewed with the huge number of right wing talking heads and very little on the left. So often I hear today’s youth speaking with the talking points of the neo-conservative movement. Try to engage them in real political conversation and you get nowhere. People need to read more. Politics is science to manage the country or state.
Youth is young blood of nation and active worker of nation. So, it is very necessary and demand of nation that he must take all the responsibility for managing whole country. Without entering in politics, he can not do any welfare activity at large scale because, after getting fund he can do any thing but who will give to him. But, if youth joins politics and make his own Govt. with help of democratic voting system, He can become prime minister of country after this he can make the India as the dream land of Swami Vivekananda. Where there is no corruption, where there is no violence, where there is no black marketing, where there is no cheating, fraud or scam. But where there is only love, where there is only honesty, where there is only co-operation and co-ordination. So, Youth should join politics for improving it. Because without improving or honesty in politics, there is no possibility of development of India. Some body criticize with giving arguing that youth can create violence with his hot blood , if we allow him to enter in politics but all of this We can not overlooked the role of youth in politics. But , I am against irrational youth who want to earn money by selling the country .
These days, we need youth like Shri Ram Chandra and Shri Krishna. They were the king of India means today prime minister and still whole India loves him as God. We need not politician like Ravan and Kans who have no respect for women .In India, I am seeing such youth who can take the burden of all social and economic problems by becoming Young Prime minister. But problem is that who brings them in front. If Indian people want to see young India, then they should think the above role of youth in politics and give them support by their Valuable Votes .Today’s youth do not attach much importance to politics. They are busy in chalking out their life goals, studies, employment, business etc. This is because politics and politicians have proved that it is stinking beyond redemption, and politics means mudslinging and corruption. Politicians have not made any impact on the youth. They have better dreams. That’s the reason; politics have become a sort of hereditary occupation. You see present politicians breed their own children to be their successors.
Only two categories of youth are inducting themselves into politics. Unwilling internally but to stick and fetch the chair to be vacated by their parents. They will be again liability on the society, since they are not to go in for any rigorous training as required for fetching/sticking to a chair. Second category, who is being allured by the politicians, will always speak in the voice of “His master’s voice”. The independent field worker has to die in the field itself which he always expects to raise the condition of “aam aadmi”. Thus this third category though important but always be a target by the above two category of neo-politicians.
Should we blame the bamboo alone simply because it is being used more as sticks rather than flutes or shelters? Today’s youth are indifferent to politics largely because of the way it is interpreted and applied and because the materialistic world and free communication are encouraging them to achieve maximum with single-minded approach. The process has been aided by the liberal value system that tends to live more in the present tense.
