Pall of gloom descended in both the houses
On Thursday when a marriage party was heading towards village Laam in Nowshera area of Rajouri district every one was busy singing and dancing to the tunes of famous bollywood numbers.
Heavy rains going on in the area had not dampened the spirits of party revelers as they wanted to enjoy every moment of the journey.
Moments later when the over crowded bus reached local stream and was crossing the causeway the driver of the ill fated bus made an error as he failed to negotiate the road and the bus turned turtle due to fast flowing currents.
Before the bus crossed the causeway bridegroom too had joined the relatives in the bus and was also washed away along with at least 50 passengers.
Bridegroom was requested by the relatives to join the marriage party in the bus to ensure safety of the bridegroom.
Despite making efforts during the day the army and state police authorities failed to rescue the passengers and as time passed by tensions mounted.
In the evening as police failed to rescue the survivors of the bus it issued a statement claiming three survivors of the bus were rescued and 49 others remain untraceable. Army authorities too feared 50 passengers died in flash floods.
