BJP-PDP not yet ready to hug each other, Modi-Mufti meeting postponed

Before the new alliance partners BJP and PDP could start celebrating the announcement of govt formation in the state a minor hiccup at the highest level on Wednesday forced the alliance managers to postpone the much awaited meeting between the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and PDP patron Mufti Mohd Sayeed.

According to inside reports when BJP Chief Amit Shah made an announcement of forming an alliance govt with the PDP he had made it clear that an understanding has been achieved at almost all the issues but still some discussions were carried on.

According to these reports on wednesday when the negotiations got underway afresh the representatives of both the parties could not wind up the final discussion and conveyed the same to their party top brass.

Following inconclusive talks the much awaited meeting between the Prime Minister and PDP patron Mufti Mohd Sayeed was postponed and if every thing went well the same is likely to take place on Friday.

In case the discussions stretched further the date of swearing in ceremony could also be extended further. As per previous understanding Prime Minister is also expected to attend the swearing in ceremony along with galaxy of other leaders here in Jammu.

It may mentioned that the new alliance partners had covered lot of common ground on contentious issues of Article 370 and Armed Forces Special Powers Act but some reservations were shared by the BJP over the issue of initiating dialogue with Pakistan and separatists to resolve the issue of Kashmir.
