BJP hails Centre’s proposal for renaming PoK as PoJK

BJP Sharnarthi Cell today hailed the efforts of the union government for mooting proposal for renaming Pakistan Occupied Kashmir(POK) as Pakistan Occupied Jammu Kashmir(POJK) as has been demanded by the BJP Sharnarthi Cell since long.

In a statement issued, BJP Sharnarthi Cell State In-charge and press secretary Jammu Kashmir BJP Pandit Ashok Kumar Khajuria along with other POJK refugee leaders has appreciated the prompt action of the Modi Government at the centre to address the long pending demands of the people.

Khajuria said that successive governments of Congress and National Conference at centre and state continued to discriminate and deprived of legitimate rights of Jammu people in every spheres of life since independence. These governments considered Jammu people as 2nd class citizens of the state and put all their efforts to benefit people across tunnel and usually diverted all funds to fill their pockets.

He reiterated that a major part of Jammu division as compared to Kashmir division was occupied by the Pak aggressors in 1947, but our governments named it as Pak Occupied Kashmir depriving Jammu people of their claim as a result of this settlement of 1947 refugees lingered on for the last over 65 years by the hands of Congress and National conference both at Centre and State.

Pt. Ashok Khajuria along with Dr. Narinder Singh had put this issue of renaming of POK as POJK before Parliamentary Standing Committee headed by Vankaiah Naidu at Delhi on July 30 2013 and at Jammu on November 7, 2013 when Parliamentary Sub Committee headed by Rajiv Pratap Rudy visited Jammu to discuss refugee issues with various refugee groups.

Similarly, Pt. Ashok Khajuria also hailed the union government for active consideration of early settlement of pending cases of refugees from POJK, West Pakistan Refugees, 1965 and 1971. He hoped that long pending issues of refugees will get priority attention of the Modi Government.
