As part of winning the Hearts and Minds (WHAM) and civic action initiatives, the Rashtriya Rifles has been constantly undertaking a variety of projects for the welfare of the people of J & K. Under the initiative, various welfare and development schemes are conceptualised and under-taken by the Army in a series of on-going initiatives, to benefit the populace of the interior and less developed areas, who are unable to access facilities such as education, healthcare etc.
As part of this initiative, a free Mini Medical Camp was organised by the Rashtriya Rifle Battalion located at Sarh under the aegis of Headquarter Sector Rashtriya Rifle, Mahore at Lancha village on 21 April 2013 as part of the Operation Sampark, and address the genuine medical requirement of the local populace belonging to the remote areas.
Lancha village is devoid of any medical facilities and locals have to travel large distances all the way to Mahore for basic medical facilities. The mini medical camp organised by the Army was a big relief to the locals. The patients were examined by the Medical Officer and Nursing Assistants of the Rashtriya Rifles Battalion. Approx 300 people, including children availed the facilities of the free mini medical camp. Free medicines were also distributed to the patients, after their examination by the doctor.
