Despite creating hype and raising the pitch over its anti corruption crusade Aam Admi Party (AAP) nominee from Jammu saturday failed to even file his nomination papers in the office of Returning Officer.
As per official sources present inside the office of the Returning officer the retired state govt employee, Harbans Lal Bhagat, who had reached office of the Returning Officer around 2.25 p.m was asked to submit his papers before the returning officers but he avoided it on one pretext or the other.
After remaining closeted for over one hour Bhagat came out complaining and alleged that the Returning officer refused to accept his papers and advised him to file his papers as an independent candidate.
“Instead of accepting my nomination the Returning Officer told me to file the nomination papers as an Independent candidate”,alleged AAP nominee.
The name of retired state govt employee had figured in the list of AAP nominees on March 19. Large number of volunteers of AAP were shocked to learn about his candidature as he was not part and parcel of the Jammu unit of the party.
